| Description: | Providing international assistance is one of the statutory tasks of Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe, and is implemented by the international assistance department at Johanniter headquarters in Berlin. The department is divided into three sections: program desk, support desk, and technical advisors. The section ”program desk” coordinates projects and operates the country offices. The ”support desk” covers finances, logistics, personnel and communication. The ”technical advisor” section is a new area. It focuses on quality assurance and the sustainability of Johanniter International Assistance. It also assists the “program desk” with the introduction of and adherence to important structures related to emergency medical care, public health, WASH (water, sanitation and hygienes), rehabilitation for persons with disabilities, and prosthetics & orthotics. The technical advisors monitor discussions and development surrounding humanitarian aid and international cooperation, and incorporates findings into the strategic development of Johanniter International Assistance. |
