Description: Since March 2011 there are protests against the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Violence and beastliness in Syria increased. For this reason more than 150,000 Syrian refugees were registered at UNHCR and fled mainly to the neighbouring countries Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq. Almost 40,000 Syrians are recorded in the Lebanese Republic in August 2012.
The German Government wanted to get an update of the current situation of the Syrian refugees and wanted to share this information to all German organisations interested.
